January 2009

Hi All

Happy New Year!!! And many of you couldn't wait for last year to be done and this year to arrive. Well here it is! So let's think forward to new ways and new energy. We often start each new year thinking positively by setting New Year resolutions, only to give them up shortly after. But STOP, THINK. If you drop your new year resolutions then this year will be just like the last. We can not expect new results without inner change. So next time you go to quit, stop, think, and then stick with it.

My own New Year resolutions are to live more in balance.. . . . Eat well, we all know we should but so often don't. I really notice my energy levels dive when I eat rubbish or drink alcohol so I am going to treat myself to zesty energy everyday by eating well and cutting out the booze. .....Sleep well, to allow for rejuvenation so that I can get up every morning with a fresh start.
......
Get outside to exercise, everyday. Even if it's a 2 minute walk to the post box I am going to get that breath of fresh air, or maybe I have the time for an hour running or biking - but outside!
......
And finally, be kind, always. We like to think we are always kind but when we are tired or stressed we can lack patience with others or become thoughtless. My final resolution is to be much more mindful to stay in grace with everyone. I don't want to waste a minute longer entertaining negative thoughts. The minute they appear I intend to stop, breath, and get back into grace! 2009 is gonna be a good year!

All classes start back as normal this week so get breathing, get on with some yoga, and get into 2009.

Don't forget to check out my weekly Posture Focus that takes an in depth look at a pose, how to do it, and all of it's benefits. The Practise of the Week looks at various aspects of yogic living, giving you tips of how to practise these different techniques.
