Corporate Yoga

Bringing yoga into the work place builds a happy and productive team. If you have enough space to put some yoga mats down then why not schedule some yoga sessions into a working day.  Long hours sitting at a desk or on the phone can leave you feeling lethargic, stressed, and less productive. Just a short session of yoga can boost energy, clear your mind, and leave you feeling positive and focused. Whilst helping to relieve back, neck, and headaches, the breathing techniques re-energize both physically and mentally. Not only does yoga improve concentration and positive thinking, it also improves the immune system which means a healthy body as well as healthy mind.
Corporate sessions can be fitted in before, during or after work and can be adapted to suit your time/space needs. Call Louise on 07779 722293 to discuss further.

Some Testimonials.....

"Louise's lunchtime yoga sessions are excellent. She tailors them to the general standard of the group but always gives suggestions for ways that more or less experienced people can change the postures to fit their level of ability. Louise is friendly, wise, very well informed and makes the sessions a pleasure to attend. " Steve

Our weekly lunchtime yoga sessions with Louise have transformed our working week in two ways. First, for us as individuals: the yoga itself has benefited us physically and mentally, helping us cope better both personally and with work-based stresses. Louise creates excellent strategies for increased fitness. She has an extraordinary talent in being able to talk to us as a group whilst reaching out to us all as individuals. The group includes the youthful and fit as well as the much older and less fit, and yet all are fully integrated and feel 'at home' within the group. This leads to the second important aspect, the workplace and social benefits; in a work place with many different departments, and a rather old-fashioned hierarchical structure, the opportunity to get to know one another has been fantastic. Traditional barriers are broken down, and communication is hugely enriched. The ethos of the institution appears more supportive. Indeed, as a group we have felt empowered to become more mutually supportive. Cross-fertilisation of ideas flow more easily. Honest discussion is facilitated. Louise is a wonderful facilitator and we have become a cohesive group both inside and outside the classes. 'Fellows & Staff of Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge'

Having access to Yoga at lunchtime at work makes it a lot easier to take time out from the working day to take part; helping you switch off any worries by relaxing and focusing on what your body's doing. There are two areas this really helps me; to de-stress and forget work for an hour and to ease out the little aches and pains that build up.

Louise's classes include several poses which help with stiff shoulders and back which we all seem to have after sitting at a computer all day. She brings those poses to our attention and now we know that if you've got a tight neck or shoulder, just a 30 second stretch or twist can help and stop it getting really stiff - things you can do in your seat at your desk. Louise's classes are really well targeted to her audience, she knows what will benefit us and she always provides beginners and more advanced options. So for complete novices as well as for regulars her classes are easy and no one worries they aren't doing it right! Louise is always careful to make sure that she takes into account any injuries all the way through the class and, similarly, if she sees you're in a position which might be harmful, she'll gently help you move into a better one.

I can't recommend either Louise specifically or the general concept of lunchtime yoga highly enough; it's a great way of helping us all feel better physically and mentally as well as building a sense of camaraderie between groups of people who might not normally come in to contact whenever we try something a bit more ambitious. Louise is a wonderful teacher, who has a gift for engaging students and leading classes that are both fun and challenging for multiple skill levels. She has a great personality and presence which adds a touch of lightness and humour even when we're in tough poses. Although I'm not very disciplined with exercise or workouts, Louise's yoga classes have been inspiring enough to keep me going back regularly for 3+ years (and counting). Vivian

I am very happy to be able to practice yoga at my workplace, it definitely helps me to relax and be more effective at work by revitalising myself and increase my focus. It is a very strong point for a company to offer this to the employees.  In addition Louise is able to provide yoga lessons for any level, that has huge personal benefits. Speaking for me, it really reduced accumulated stress thanks to the breathing exercises and unlocked some muscular tensions in my back and shoulder blades, all that helping me to be more agile for the sports I practice outside of work.
